The Center for Advanced Public Safety (CAPS) is a contract grant-funded research center in the College of Engineering at The University of Alabama. Our offices are in Cyber Hall on the Bryce campus of the university. Employees are involved in IT research and cutting edge software development.
CAPS has developed software such as eCite and eCrash, which are used by law enforcement across the state every day. We work with many Alabama state agencies as well as agencies in other states. There are many more exciting and meaningful projects underway at CAPS including mobile app development, virtual reality research, website development, and data analytics research. We hire undergraduate and graduate students, as well as full-time staff positions. Often, student employees are offered the opportunity to become full-time staff after graduation.
